Product Description At this school, everyone's a geek. And Miranda Bloom still can't fit in... Miranda is a math genius with divorced parents, an evil stepmother, and no boyfriend in sight. She can't even fit in with the other geeks at the Nottingham Independent School for high-IQ students, because they actually have useful talents. Miranda, on the other hand, is known as "The Human Calculator," which doesn't amount to much when people have, you know, their own calculators. Then Miranda gets stuck planning the school's Snowflake Gala. And as she struggles to find a date and drum up some school spirit at Nottingham-aka "Geek High"-she finds that who you are means more than where you fit in.

JiTTeRbOx895's Review! ~ Geek High June 15, 2008 Taylor ! (Delaware, USA) So... I was looking through the bookstore one day and decided to take home this book. The title and front cover made me laugh so I decided to take a chance. When I first started the book, I could not stop laughing, it was funny and cracked me up. Through-out the book, it tells you a story of fifteen-year old girl, Miranda Bloom. Miranda went to a normal public school until she was around twelve years old and was excepted into a school for geniuses. You see, when she was eight, she was asked to be on the David Letterman show where she was officially named the "Human Calculator". Miranda was always good at math. Calculus, adding, subtracting, algebra, you name it! And now that she's a sophmore in high school, she is doing math equasions from Harvard. One problem, doing math in your head isn't a really special talent when you find out a little device called a calculator exists in the world. And for that, she is one of the least talented students at the Notting Hill Independant School for Gifted Children, a.k.a., Geek High.
Just when she planned to have the best high school year ever, her mother tells her she's moving to London and Miranda will be living with her father, stepmom, and stepsister. Miranda hates them! Her dad ignored her for three years, the demon he calls a wife hates her, and her stepsister looks at her like trash. And to top that all off, the only guy Miranda has ever loved, Emmett, falls in love with her stepsister, Hannah!
Miranda has to plan the Snowflake Gala at her school, be blackmailed into joining the Mu Alpha Theta math team, and her teacher suggests she enter a writing contest! Will Miranda ever find a date to the dance? Will her stepfamily ever love her? Will her mother be the greatest parent ever and come save her? Find out in this awesome book that kept the pages turning! I read it in almost one night! I hope you enjoyed my review, read this book!

Geek High = 5 Stars July 14, 2008 When I picked up a copy of this book, I had no idea how interesting it would be. I thought I'd read the first few pages, next thing I knew I was half way into it! I love how you can instantly relate to the main character. Well, with the exception of her abnormal math abilities... Anyways... the characters are well developed and well described. Any teenager who likes a little moderen day drama will love and relate to this book. Well done Miz Piper! -by K. Kocher's daughter
Spoiler!!! Warning!!! July 25, 2008 G. Quinonez (Planet Earth) This is A Spoiler!!! Warning!!!
I LOVED this book. Miranda is a smart character that you immediately fall in love with. She is switched to a school for "Gifted" children. However, it is known as Geek High. Where super genious people go to. She has two friends that make you smile. Charlotte a.k.a Charlie has bright pink hair, always straightforward whether you like it or not, and an exceptional painter. Finn,on the other hand, is a tall computer genious who's goal is to be kicked out of school, but mostly get Charlie's attention. Anyway, Miranda finds out her mother,Sadie who writes romance novels, is going away to London for a year to do research on an upcoming novel. Therefore, Miranda has to live in her dad's house(her parents are divorced) which is a huge Florida beach house. Her dad married a rich woman named Peyton who has a perfect barbie doll teenage daughter. In other words, The Demon and The Demon Spawn. Now, Miranda isn't drop dead gorgeuos like sliky blonde haired curvy Hannah(Demon Spawn). So there is an odd thing between them. In other words, they hate each other. And Peyton hates Miranda. Anyway, Miranda has this crush on A boy named Emmett. But,unfortunately, he falls for Hannah when they meet at a restaurant. Emmett and Hannah start dating. Miranda is devastated. More problems appear, Finn starts a rumour about Miranda's enemy,Felicity, on a sight called geek high saying that Felicity's dad payed a HUGE amount of money so Felicity could get into geek high. In other words, she didn't have an IQ of 120 or higher which was the requirements at geek high. Felicity's was lower. When she sees the website, she tells the headmaster. Since nobody knows who posted the website except Finn Charle and Miranda, Felicity assumes it is by Miranda. Miranda then tells the headmaster that she does know who made the website, but she can't tell him. Therefore, she is punished by having to run the Snowflake- the most hated school event. She would be hated by everyone. To her surprise, she meets a boy named Dex with red hair and blue eyes invited over by Hannah. There is an immediate click between them and Miranda gradually gets a crush on him. Meanwhile, Miranda quits a math team where she is most needed(She is a Math Genious) to try writing as a new aspiration. When the headmaster finds out, he tells her that she can change the snowflake in any way she wants as long as she stays on the math team. She is being blackmailed. So she is forced to do this to get what she wanted and not be hated by the school who knows that she could have changed the boring speeches in the snowflake to a better event. Miranda ends up making the event like a prom. And everything works out. She becomes at least friends with Hannah, aquaintanced with Peyton, makes best friends with her father, and holds a succesful event. But no date. Hannah called Dex behind Miranda's back and told him Miranda didn't have a date and asked him to show up. He shows up and tells Miranda how he really feels about her, kisses her, and dances with her. And to wrap it up she is going to London the next day for Christmas with her mom. I Cannot wait to read Geek Abroad. I highly suggest this book!!!

Hurst-Alger (California) i read this book and absolutely loved it and i am not much of a reader. i liked the whole thing of the good and bad people. i am 17 and am a senior in high school so one point that drew me to this book was that it said high but of course i read the book a little before i bought it.in the end it all turns out like a typical love story but i love those types of books and movies.
